Who are the Coachella Valley Roadrunners?
We are a youth cross-country mountain bike team based in the desert communities of the Coachella Valley founded in 2015! Our primary goal is to introduce school-aged riders to the sport of mountain biking focusing primarily on teaching on-the-bike skills, outdoor fun, fitness, teamwork and responsibility with the opportunity to compete against other mountain bikers in the SoCal area. We compete in the middle-school (grades 6-8) and high-school (grades 9-12) divisions of the SoCal Cycling League, a NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association) league.
Our 3rd season officially kicks off in December 2018 when practices will commence. Our race season begins in January and lasts until May. During the season, we practice under the supervision of NICA trained coaches riding the local trails of La Quinta Cove, Cahuilla Park or other nearby trail systems. Our practices are organized three days a week -- 2 days on the trails and 1 day at an indoor spin-bike facility.
